Being admitted to the hospital can create anxieties for adults and be even more intimidating for children. The ALMH Auxiliary is showing local second graders that a hospital stay does not need to be frightening.
Mini-Medical Days were developed by the ALMH Auxiliary to help children become comfortable with a hospital setting.
During Mini-Medical Days, local second grade students visit various departments in the hospital including Radiology, Laboratory, Dietary and Respiratory Therapy to learn how the hospital helps patients heal. The students also tour an ambulance and the helipad as part of their experience.
