Acute pain is the body's warning signal that says something may be very wrong. It almost always has a medical cure and an end. In contrast, chronic pain may have no end. More than 50 million Americans suffer from chronic pain -- defined as constant pain lasting for more than three months. It may arrive mysteriously or from the result of an accident or illness. Some sources of chronic pain may include arthritis, cancer, back pain, headaches or other conditions.
The Pain Management Service at ALMH can help you rediscover the joys of life. They partner with you and your physician to implement a personal treatment plan with a goal of reducing your pain by at least 50 % while increasing physical functionality. Ask your primary care physician or specialist for a referral to the ALMH Pain Management Services.
Our pain management physicians specialize in pain management and are honored to provide you care and will review diagnostic test results, diagnosis from the referring physician, and any prescription and over-the-counter medications you are currently taking.
