Oesterlein Named ALMH Employee of the Month
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital has announced Anett Oesterlein of Pekin as the December Employee of the Month. Oesterlein joined the ALMH laboratory department in April 2012 and serves as a medical laboratory technician.
In her role, Oesterlein runs tests on all kinds of specimens including blood, urine, stool and other body fluids.
Born and raised in Germany, Oesterlein knew from the young age of 14 that she wanted to work in a medical lab. After graduating with her degree in August 2000, she began her career at the Department of Virology at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany. After a short time at a hospital that specialized in liver disease, she returned to the University of Wuerzburg where she worked in the molecular biology department as lab manager and researched antibiotic resistance and sepsis.
She enjoys her role at ALMH and takes pride in being an ALMH employee.
“Every day I am impressed by how community-oriented ALMH is, and how much the community supports the hospital. Also, I work with a great group of professionals who do their best everyday, from the emergency room physicians to the volunteers,” said Oesterlin.
ALMH is a 25-bed critical access hospital located at 200 Stahlhut Drive in Lincoln, Illinois and is an affiliate of Memorial Health System. ALMH employs over 315 in a variety of roles. For more information about ALMH, visit ALMH.org.
