'Tis the Season Luncheon Supports Lifeline

December 06, 2012

This week’s annual ‘Tis the Season luncheon, a fundraising tradition of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, underscores the importance of the Lifeline program in the community.
More than 100 women and men recently attended the luncheon and card party at the American Legion December 3, 2012.
Lynne Metz, Director of Volunteer and Special Services at ALMH, expressed her gratitude for the support of the Lifeline program.
“We are blessed to have the Auxiliary, which through fundraising efforts and donors has been able to keep Lifeline going over the years,” Metz said. “Lifeline does offer family members a lot of peace of mind for their loved ones who are home by themselves.”

Lifeline is an easy-to-use personal response service worn as a pendant or a wristband that ensures assistance and a quick response from emergency services.

ALMH Auxiliary event profits also help fund the purchase of new Lifeline units and replacement batteries. ALMH staff members install, maintain, and educate the user and family members in homes and apartments throughout Logan, DeWitt, and eastern Mason Counties.

In addition to ticket sales, money was raised through generous sponsors. The luncheon sponsor was Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Illinois American Water sponsored the bridge tournament. Table sponsors included:
Logan County Elected Officials, Candle Stick Lane Farm in memory of Victor Dittus, Eaton Electrical, Dolan and Beth Dalpoas, Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Homes, Graue, Inc., Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln-Chrysler Dodge, Jeep, Inc., Short Rentals, Nobbe Eye Care Center, Deron and Kristi Powell, Mike Maske Auction Services, NAPA Auto Parts, Atlanta National Bank, Blue Dog Inn, Brad Neal and Associates, and MKS Jewelers.
