Acute Care and Family Maternity Suites
Besides offering a beautiful wooded view, the new acute care rooms at the new hospital provide patients with greater convenience and up-to-date technology. Staff can also feel confident that they can do their jobs without compromising patient privacy, rest or relaxation.
The unit has two nurses' stations and a unique curved hallway design to give caregivers visibility of all 22 patient rooms and offer patients quicker access to nursing staff. Tucked into a quiet corner of the acute-care unit is the Family Maternity Suites, featuring three observation rooms and three labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum suites.
Family Maternity Suites has its own elevator to quickly transport laboring patients needing c-sections to surgery. The large LDRP suites are now located just adjacent to the nurses' station and nursery.
All the patient rooms on our acute-care unit are private and have a shower. Each room's furniture converts easily into beds, so visitors can stay close to their loved ones overnight.
Patient rooms also have a pass-through cabinet so that beddings, gowns, medications and other supplies can be stocked from outside the room, which means fewer interruptions for our patients.
One room is designed to accommodate bariatric patients. It includes a built-in overhead lift so staff can move patients weighing up to 1,000 pounds safely in and out of bed, reducing the risk of injury to patients and staff. The room's furniture also accommodates bariatric patients.
